This week the city was hit by the Valentine craze. It was an opportunity for many genuine relationships to express their heart felt commitment to one another. For instance, I met Rose   ( not her real name) in the evening. She just had this joy written all over her face. She had a wide smile, and  with a face beaming with joy said to me; “Pastor, you cannot believe what my husband did for me! He sent a bouquet of flowers to my office. I put them on my desk! Ooh, I am so happy! Eeh! The comments my office mates made! Ooh I was beside myself!.  I thank God for my husband!!”

 

Unfortunately, it was also a day used by those who live for only their fleshly desires. They used it to manipulate, entice and seduce others for a one night stand in the name of love. Remember  I John 3:16 says; “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.”
